more of a one-off gripe than a peeve, per se:

not being able to see, almost exactly 48 hours from now, a vibrant 82-year-old Bob Newhart at some casino in Richmond.

woulda had shitloads of TBNS questions if I'd had the chance to gab

will have to console myself with reveries of phone routines

also - jiffy marker fumes

fucking cats that don't go outside right away.

Did someone already say anything about people asking to use your cell phone on the bus? Because yeah, huge pet peeve right there. Especially when I say no and they get all indignant. Ask someone else...you just asked me...I don't owe you anything...

As soon as I read this he scored and I was like "how did he know?!" By my calculations that's $3.68 million per goal :x. At least we made smart trade today, for once.

When grown-ups call shows "concerts", or when I have to call them concerts because if I don't they'll think I'm talking about a play or a movie.

or when you are having dinner and talking with someone and they start saying a new thought and two words in they take a bite and take forever to stop chewing so they can complete their thought

"so today this giant- " NOMNOMNOMNOM FOR FIVE FUCKING MINUTES "lake monster came up out of the lake and ate a bird"

my mom does this in general conversation, except it's supposed to be some kind of dramatic pause without any particular meaning or reason. it seriously will last like at least a solid 5 seconds at completely illogical junctions in mid-sentence. i sometimes seize the opportunity and use it to be obnoxious and try and make light of whatever silly point she's trying to make, or start being boorish to get her to BLOODY WELL GET ON WITH IT!

When I've transported alcohol, specifically more the spirits, via my bag and somehow it almost always leaks no matter how hard I twist the cap. This has occurred so many times that the inside of my bag smells like a dorm room.

Oh and also people who glorify serial killers as if it makes them "bad ass" or "deep". Nothing screams "try hard" more. Go take up karate lessons or read some philosophy, and stop feigning interest in a person responsible for torturing/killing a human being and making families suffer with the horrible memories.

I would agree, but I'm also really really interested in serial killers so maybe I'm one of those people. But seriously...Albert Fish was a horrible, horrible man.

You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

particularly revolting were all the nutjob admirers who turned up at Richard Rodriguez's trials, and all the love letters and marriage proposals he recieved.

wow.........just................wow..... (<admittedly peevish phrase)
