it seems that people are taking issue with how I run things* here so I'm just going to post a poll and see what you kids want out of this place. I'll let people select multiple things because some of these are not mutually exclusive.

Don't take this smoke biz to heart Tyler. I think everyone would agree you do a great job with this board and myself and I'm certain everyone else too appreciate this place. I don't think it's too much for everyone to respect a friend's comfort boundaries on here. Is it really a big deal? Are anyone's principle's being crushed by complying with Tyler's wishes on this?

I think it's a matter of context and what's being discussed. Having a thread about weed, in Victoria, is pretty chill. Rape jokes (to borrow the example) are not. Seems pretty intelligent to me. Also, the concept of keeping personal shit off the board is kind of like praying for all earthquakes to end. It may not happen immediately, but it's gonna eventually. Best to at least be ready for it.

i have not seen any of these on here so far, but if i did, that person should a) be banned right away, and b) i will do some damage to their face.

I choose not to vote. If you put up, "No limits", i pick that. We govern as it happens; each issue at a time as it comes up. It's a message board...

edit: also, when i said previously, 'set some rules', i meant it as a sweet hardcore band name (that's a joke). No really, I meant, you should allow democratic discussion, and since no one elected the mods, as far as i know, them locking threads is undemocratic in theory. I like majority rule and if you find things queezy, stay out of the thread. If you think it's a legal issue, you're not to blame, Tyler, because you won't admit to smoking weed on a forum (i guess you think cops will monitor this?). Also, as for age vs. illegality, why should age matter with things like drugs and alcohol? And why should we ban speaking of them because someone doesn't like talking about them? Isn't it discussion that brings enlightenment?

I'll run this a little further but the people have spoken and I think it's fair to respect that. thanks everyone so far. I am honestly just trying to do the best job I can and keep this place fun/active. sometimes it's not always clear to me how to do that.

the address is indeed available to the public if they email. we just don't want cops to come. there's a total difference.

Kyle, I think it's inappropriate for you to continually be hammering at this issue. We're not going to openly publish the address of the castle. Move on.

The best message board I ever posted on was the one where everybody was an admin. Seriously, like 30 of us had admin capabilities. We kept that shit going for years until some nerd virgin with l33+ h4x0r skills took us down because he didn't think we had enough manners. Shit was weird. Either way it ruled and was probably the most democratic message board I've ever posted on. RIP punkforums.com
