alright since my laptop has shit the bed i have no music out here in the living room it blows.

i have working speakers though... how would i go about hooking those speakers up to my laptop here. what kind of converter or jack or... plugs... or thingies would i need from the source or something

umm theyre older than me. huge JVC bastards. just with the red/grey wire cord plugging into them that went into my reciever

you are going to need some kind of receiver to power those speakers then..
laptop i don't think will be able to power that. Would have to be laptop to receiver to speakers

might be another way... but that's all i can think of

yea i tried putting my ipod into the reciever last night but to no avail. i just have some mp3 cord jack thing that i use on cdplayers at work but no dice on my olddddd reciever

really? that is odd

if you have a 1/8th inch to 2 rca usually that works with most receivers

yeah i plugged it in, but got nothin on any of the auxphono or tape buttons

1. was the reciever on?
2. was teh volume turned up?
3. was the laptop on?
4. was the laptop volume turned up?
5. does the cable/cord work with other devices?
