Escapist Records is extremely pleased to announce the upcoming split release between two of recent hardcore’s most intriguing entities: U.K.'s Rot in Hell and Winnipeg, Canada’s Withdrawal. Each band will be contributing brand new recordings to the record, which is slated for a Summer release on 10” vinyl as well as a digital release.

i hope they have that 7" they put out last year for sale. i missed out on it ages ago, if anyone has mp3s give em to me thanksssss

3rd and final update up within a day or two.... the record features contributions from give up, advocacy and nick from crucified.

5 songs. 3 offerings of scathing metallic hardcore. 2 synthesizer and effects drenched interludes sewing the tracks together. the songs display a strong influence from UK goth bands, 90's shoegaze and evocative electronic landscapes and a maturity and growth outside of the genre's limitations of metallic hardcore, whilst conciously avoided the self-important bloated traps of being a post-hardcore mess. simply put; there is nothing else out there now like the music we are creating.

thematically, the record follows a path. human beings live life wanting happiness. that could be from love, drugs, sex, friendship, creating art, anything. "forever let me down again" is about that wanting that feeling, and making the sacrifices neccessary to take hold of that feeling. unfortunately, human beings are also gluttons and are never satisfied. "rotten hell" is about finding that feeling and realizing it's a fleeting and momentary thing. you reflect upon the means not justifying the end.

the 2 sides of the record are also tied together thematically. the final track on our side "the book of dead" is based on jason massey, a charles manson worshiping satanic murdered. rot in hell's side contains a song based on the son of sam and his alleged ties to the holy terror process church.
