Re: Start fucking bands.
my friend and i are starting a powerviolence project and we're just using programmed drums... i'm cautiously optimistic. hopefully it won't suck.
gonna do some coke off my doom cannon if you get my drift
Re: Start fucking bands.
The way I've always looked at it, too, is it just spreads out good ideas. If people just focused on one project, instead of say, 3 or 4, I think the quality of that one would be better because (In theory) you're only writing for one band as opposed to more so you can use all your best ideas for one band, and also self edit better.Andrew wrote:And not just in Vic, a lot of scenes have this happen, Van included. It'd be cool if people tried to start bands with new people occasionally.Peter wrote:I think the biggest problem is too many bands with the same few people... its a problem in a lot of the scenes here in vic, not just hardcore.
Someday I would like to start a casual band with a couple peeps from Van and Vic together. I think it'd be fun to have an excuse to visit Vic more often. Not that that helps any local scene much.
Re: Start fucking bands.
I have experienced this, but in general I disagree because (for me) I tend to play in multiple bands that sound different so it's clear which ideas are right for which band.Peter wrote:The way I've always looked at it, too, is it just spreads out good ideas. This thread has garnered much response. Will it generate any new bands from all this talk of the want for new bands?
Re: Start fucking bands.
I know it's always lame when people start jamming and generating interest then it falls apart so it's not always good to talk about a fetus of a new band but.. nick/kris/myself wrote a song last night and have plans to do it again next week.

You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.
