darcy, were you around for my man Eric Budd and his mighty Operators? Also, Our Mercury's last 7" and direction was slick. I love edmonton's reggae scene, actually music scene in general.
Also, Montreal always seems to have some great reggae/ska bands pumping out of there. I guess because it's home of Stomp? More likely because Montreal has a good everything-scene.

Aggrolites i'll always dig. i don't listen to them much anymore, but they're good shit.

I used to love Chris Murray until i played with him and decided he's a cunt. Now i can't look past that. Vic, on the other hand, will always be boss in my books.

There used to be a much bigger scene, and I blame its current size to the fat that we almost never do all-ages shows outside of Skafest. Now we've only got crappy reggae-rocker bands who wish Jack Johnson was in Sublime....I like that crap.

I have love for Ska, The Kingpins show back in...I don't remember when, at the victoria events center I think? Was one of my favorite shows ever.

That show there was one of The Kingpins last shows ever. Loraine then went on to make an electro-pop group called Lo and the Magnetics and another band called The Handclaps. Just a few years ago she started playing ska covers with a group called Lolo Songs Rocksteady. She played one of the free shows at Skafest this year and played some awesome classics that I don't think one would automatically stick on a setlist.
