Re: Most hated genre?
skate punk meh
still don't; really know what hatecore is.
i don't consider all tough guy hardcore to be meathead hardcore.... maybe i just have a soft spot for some of it.
krishnacore RULES. that is all. (see. Shelter, Cro Mags, 108, Antidote, Baby Gopal, Cause for Alarm, Worlds Collide, Prema, Refuse to Fall. and by association: Better Than A Thousand, Inside out, Texas Is the Reason etc)
also i don't know really what you think of when you think posthardcore
i kind of agree on crossover thrash, skate punk, and horror punk. I couldn't usually give a fuck about those.

tough guy h/c: i agree, they aren't all meatheads. i don't usually feel comfortable at those shows though. plus the music is generally only meh for me.dalamar501 wrote:skate punk meh

krishnacore: i've only heard shelter, cro-mags, and 108 and i wasn't particularily stoked. cro-mags were pretty cool though. i'll have to check out the others. i had no idea texas is the reason had krishna affiliations though. hm.
when i put down post hardcore i meant the bands that claim the title like fall of troy (prog.), thrice (i kinda consider them post-grunge...) and from first to last (i feel like it'd be a diss to a genre to classify them as a particular one). awhile ago i found out that when i use that term those kind of bands are the ones people associate with it.
i love the stuff dischord, 3 one g, and touch and go put out; and the revolution summer bands (rites of spring, indian summer, moss icon, happy go licky) that can be considered post hardcore though.
i guess its just the term i dislike.

It's pretty widdly-diddly guitary with high pitched vocals. Kind of like if Rush heard At The Drive-Inkeith. wrote:i remember enjoying the first onegrind/bro wrote:i should just step in and say that The Fall Of Troy was awesome up until that last album (maaaajor stinker)

yeah i have just been on a major krishna binge lately mostly.
I have always had love for 108 and Shelter however.
Norm from Texas is the reason is/maybe was krishna. played in shelter. and the drummer Chris of Texas played in 108 and was/is also krishna. not sure if any still are but at the time of Texas is the Reason they were.
Baby Gopal is more pop punk ish core. tyler calls them the No Doubt of Krishnacore. Female fronted. Actually Ray Cappo Wife...
Worlds Collide has Ken Olden of Battery fame...
Refuse to Fall has one EP i listen to rarely. 90s melodic hardcore i guess. someone on the internet described it as that
Prema i am not a huge fan of but they have a few tracks i think are okay. more singy vocals. kind of like most of those other 90s hardcore bands that came out of 80s hardcore bands.
Cause for Alarm - Warzone/Bold/H20 esque krishnacore.?
Antiodote are having their 7" reissued on Bridge 9 right now... haha
Yes posthardcore is a horrible term.
love love love emo / indian summer , rites of spring etc
and "screamo"
yeah.

Re: Most hated genre?
that screamo stuff was kinda okay when i was young and sad about girls, but no self respecting man should ever listen to that shit. it's depressing, boring and overall not worthwhile to listen to. if you're between 16-20 it's totally acceptable to listen to, but it's not going to make any of your problems better. and i'm not talking about whatever mtv labels as "screamo", i mean the real ish, saetia, i like myself, moss icon, etc etc etc. maybe not moss icon. but the rest of that skramz crap.
dancehall is most likely my most disliked genre. i can deal with a bit of supercat or ninjaman for about 5 minutes, but it gets grating very quickly.
