The Simpsons

Post by officespace »

Are there any big Simpsons fans on this board? If so please talk in this thread as all my brother and I do all day now is watch Simpsons episodes. We haven't gone to school since like last tuesday b/c we've been watching the simpsons. Best show ever to air on television. But don't bother posting if your only response is going to be well the show used to be good but it sucks now. I really don't care. I want to have a genuine Simpsons conversation with some of you guys so please talk to me about it. BTW I still watch the new episodes every week so if you wanna talk about those do itttttt.

I've been a fan of SImpsons since I was a wee one. I remember the first time I asked to get my bedtime moved from 7 to 7:30 was so I could watch it. The past couple seasons have seemed to pick up the pace after a couple years of "meh"dome. I think seasons 2 - 8 will always remain classic, but some new episodes are pretty awesome.

As a philosophy minor, I like to look at the show through that sort of lens. How they cover virtues and the 4 concepts of a person (does right because it's natural, does right but knows it''s right, does wrong but knows it's wrong, does wrong because it's natural).

I would say Homer is my favourite character because he lives for the moment. he lives in extremes and so I feel he loves, hates, etc in the biggest way possible.

Millhouse is also awesome 'cause he's that little wiener kid with glasses.

The Simpsons is like your 95 year old great aunt who used to be hilarious but is starting to fly off the handle but you still gotta visit every sunday.

sorry season 21. Dude get into simpsons jeopardy. It's jeopardy with just simpsons questions(Obviously). most of the questions are from the earlier saesons too. Also you shouldn't have stopped at 10. Up to 14 were still good. After that its a few good episodes everyonce and a while.

like d'arcy the simpsons always remind me of my childhood

I also remember getting my bedtime pushed back to 7:30 just so i could watch it. I was pretty much up to date till about 2003 i would say. After that well i started having more in my life to do. I am not around to watch tv shows and would catch it sometimes on.

Me and my Brother are in the middle of determing our favourite episode. To decide we did a knock out style tournament so far for my list( Darren)
Season 1 Winners
Moaning Lisa
There’s No Disgrace Like Home

Season 2 Winners
Tree house of horror
Oh Brother Where Art Thou

Season 3 Winners
Radio Bart
Lisa’s Pony

Season 4 Winners
Monorail
Last Exit to Springfield

Season 5 Winners
Cape Feare
Rosebud

Season 6 Winners
Homer Badman
Bart Of Darkness

Warren's so far
Season 1 Winners: Krusty Gets Busted and Bart The General
Season 2 Winners: Lisa’s Sub and Oh Brother
Season 3: Flaming Moes and Radio Bart
Season 4: Marge Vs. The Monorail and Last Exit To Springfield
Season 5 winners: Secrets of a successful marriage and Bart’s Inner Child

For me season 6 soooo far has been the hardest to get down from 4 to 2 episodes

"When I look at the smiles on all the children's faces, I just know they're about to jab me with something."

I think my favourite Homer moment is the few seconds of him in the background where he jousts against the BBQ pit.

I think my favorite Homer moment is in the episode "Secrets of a Successful Marriage" when he is in the backseat of the car saying "You Mean I'm going to be a daddy" and things like that trying to get marge sad. Litterally one of the funniest moments ever shown on television.
