this is funny because last time set it straight was positioned to play a show here, they bailed last minute. that was a sad day, i loved that band.

Re: March 3rd - THE SEPARATION
they didn't bail last min they missed their ferry and ended up on the 9 ferrry. Got to the venue JUST as the show was over or so. Still got to hang out with thema nd then they played Courtenay the next day. They made it the time before that. Good dudes would have loved to see/hangout with them againKYLESTYLE wrote:I AM STRAIGHT EDGE....FOR MY OWN SELF

I understand that things happen, but the principle of keeping your commitments should be there, and it just seems strange to me to come this far and they deny themselves the chance to see Vancouver Island.Hollow wrote:And I'm sure they're nice guys, and I'm sure to them it seemed like the right thing to do, but no it wasn't. When you have commitments, you follow through or at the very least give the promoters a heads up as to why they're not playing. I'm not trying to paint them with this one act, I've honestly up to now heard very very good things about these guys, but this was a shitty thing to do.
Yeah. I mean, shit happens (I was supposed to put on a show for Die Young last time they came out here and...well, you know how that went), but this just feels like a bummer to me. OH WELL. Like you said, no money is being lost, and the show will still happen tonight, so nowhere near a loss.

You don't need any of them. You just need drugs.

xchadx wrote:Maybe message The Separation on Myspace about it Willa? They were the nicest dudes, and there's probably more to why they bailed on the last two shows of their tour. Most bands would still pull through for two more shows unless they had some serious problems going on. I'm gonna send them off a message later.
That seems like a good idea, but if your sending them a message that should be enough. Honestly, I'm just kind of curious. Like you said, most bands would pull the last two shows off, at least. I'm not pissed off or anything, just disappointed (I was really looking forward to seeing them play), and would like a bit of an explanation.

WBOM has to play in their place. replace brian with tyler
Re: March 3rd - THE SEPARATION
The Separation did one thing that I fully back: 3 guitar players.
Love it when it's done right.

Re: March 3rd - THE SEPARATION
I'd kind of rather if a band breaks up on tour they just head home instead of finishing up the tour with super tense shows where it's obvious to everybody that they aren't enjoying themselves and don't want to be there, making it really uncomfortable for everybody who just wanted to have fun. It's not the classiest move in the world, but neither is dragging band drama from town to town.

Yeah, like if a band decides to call it quits but can still finish the tour without it being super awkward and unfun, then by all means they should. But considering that The Separation don't even want to talk about why they broke up, I think they made the right call.

Re: March 3rd - THE SEPARATION
agreed.
unless you've been on tour in a situation like that, you really have nothing to say (other than that you're bummed you can't see them). Tour can be a shit-hole (it is usually the best time ever) and I've definitely been in that situation before. It's not fun, and everyone is disappointed, but sometimes it's the only reasonable option.
also, troy, i was just joking about the set it straight show. i loved that band, and i wish i went with everyone else up to courtenay to see them.

It was Jodi, myself, Lydia and lyd's sis Tamy that went with them

Re: March 3rd - THE SEPARATION
despite the separation not making it this show ruled hard. shibboleth played instead and sounded awesome, no eulogy ruled once again, iskra is always amazing (especially in a living room). thanks to troy and tyler for letting my drunk ass crash on their floor.
