I would be one of those people. "Houdini" easily ranks as one of my all time favorite albums. Getting to see them with Tomahawk is one of my best memories.
Quick question though: do you smoke weed? Cuz if you don't, I may have figured out why you don't like them all that much.

i can completely see this, i for one love the melvins. its not something i put on all the time but i think theyre hilarious and when they want to be can completely floor you with their heavyness.
but yea not every album is the same and they like to experiment which leaves a lot of people wondering what the fuck they just heard.
like when they opened for White Zombie in the late 90s. their whole set was entirely noise/feedback/other weirdness. doing their Colossus of Destiny album front to back. the Zombie meat heads surely wondered what was going on

I had a friend in Phoenix who saw this tour and said it was the funniest thing watching the Melvins just fuck with the entire crowd.

Ha ha, not really anymore. I do like a lot of sludge/ stoner/ experimental stuff. I can definitely appreciate them though, and King Buzzo is one of the funniest interviewees out there.

Hahaha, fair enough. I just have known a few people that stopped smoking weed and pretty quickly got out of sludge/etc. I'm one of those weirdos that digs epically slow music all the time.
I also smoke like a chimney, mind you.
Agreed on King Buzzo, the man lives his life with no fucks given.

Reece and his antiquated punk-rock comment??? The dude wouldn't know punk-rock if it was sitting on his face! Ask him to name a punk band he listens to, and he'll pull maybe 5 outa his ass. He's more into antiquated metal...
A lot of people think Wrong's their best, I personally think almost every album they put out after Wrong is as good or better (with the exception of Tour EP 1, the first NMN release I didn't care for... haven't heard EP 2 yet).

Dear weed smokers and hippie drum circle enthusiasts; Chad has made a numerical list, but with letters! Wrap your heightened consciousness around that concept. Like, whoa.
