any available guitar guys?

Post by Human-Demise »

So I've been programming drums for some songs, and I think they're pretty good. fast metallic grindy stuff. but i've reached a bit of an impasse, I can't play guitar.

sooooo I'm looking for some body that'd be available to play. it's fast, heavy, and a little bit technical grind.

somewhere between last days of humanity, and discordance axis.

probably a shot in the dark?

you should totally learn guitar. it's rewarding and fun.

this isn't my style but maybe kevin or someone would be into it.

if your worried about a musician being too good for your project that should probably be a red flag of sorts.
If your worried about a musician's style not fitting with your project that's a different matter.

I think you're missing the point. What Zach is saying is that you should be going for the guys who are better than you. It only improves what your doing to have really good musicians in any project you've got. Having people who are at differing levels is cool, because it gives people a chance to improve, but you should still be attempting to get the best. Worst they can say is no, right?

yeah, I get what your saying and it seems like a good idea, I could always ask, but I do take rejection to hard sometimes.

By that logic you should be begging to stay in No Eulogy.

Alexis, don't do it if you don't want to. I'm pretty sure Kevin doesn't have time for a new band right now either. But you shouldn't be aiming low when looking to start a band.

yeah thats another thing, a lot of the people id want to record with have multiple bands on the go, at first ashton was interested, but never committed to it, then he joined unicron. ive been trying to get simon from apparatus, but hes been to busy with on call heroes. (so i havent been aiming low.)

i guess i should try live victoria, or wait for somebody new to come to the island.

Okay, good. Well, good luck on that man. I know how difficult finding musicians to work with can be.

tell me about. thats why i want to start something like this, cause my other band is constant compromises. i get us shows, shirts, cds, and yet im the bad guy when i want to play fast songs and not do melvins covers.

need some serious grind to vent man.

bands are about compromise. not everyone is always going for the same thing.

compromise yes, but i cant contribute to how it sounds cause any idea i contribute gets shot done cause "i make all the decisions." i guess getting shirts and show is all the decisions. mean while every time we get together to jam, they've made the tempos in our songs slower.

I can't imagine a band where the guitar player (or players, if there's more than one) isn't/aren't the main songwriters. it's pretty hard to write a song when someone goes "play something like nuhnuhnananawewe".

this is true, if you can't play guitar well enough to write riffs yourself i think you're just gonna have to suck it up

yeah, but what im saying was when it started the songs were fast. and everytime they get together they slow em down more and more. even within the same practice they'le play, and then play it again even slower.

That may be what you have to deal with. In my band, my opinion on riffs matters, but it's taken as just one voice. If I'm outvoted, hey tough shit. If I really like a song, I'll say so, but honestly in the end it's up to the people actually writing the music to decide how it's going to sound. I like to say it, but if you don't like it, you may want to consider dropping out.

i would, but then the band would fall apart. ego-y yes, but i am the glue, i run the site, provide transport for the guitar player. i set up the equipment. if im not tthere those things just dont end up getting done. voting would work if the drummer would ever form an opinion on any thing, hes sooo damn passive. oh well. if i had an outlet for my fast stuff, then that might work better. we'll see i guess.
