shop for tattoos by price. it case it hasn't been brought up, these do not wash off and are rarely fixable. Get out to the shops, meet the guys, look at portfolios and pay whatever they charge. Can't afford it? save up.

The only tattoo I regret is a tattoo I got because it was "affordable". Also doubles as the worst tattoo experience I've ever had. QFT.

WOW thanks for the lesson guys! At 28 I guess I'm never too old to be reminded that tattoos are permanent.

I don't know this city. Anyone who does can likely tell which artists are better at lettering, or drawing from a photograph of your old dead dog, or doing old rockabilly sailor shit. Also which artists are really sought after and booked a few months ahead, and which artists are maybe doing great work but less popular. Or which shops seem really decent but are actually run by crackheads. That's all I was looking for. I live on a hill in Metchosin and don't get downtown very often. So if anyone could

Honestly, the only two shops I'd go to are Governement Street or Tattoo Zoo.

honestly if it's just helvetica lettering, it'd be tough to find someone who would fuck that up. that being said, i wouldn't get a tattoo anywhere but gov't st, but that's just me. also, stick and poke it if you want to save money.

I wish that were true, but the amount of scratchers out there is depressing. Less people need to become tattoo "artist" (depending how loosely you use the term)

Hey, I'm looking to get a super traditional swallow (Because swallow tattoos are fucking lame) done here in Victoria. Where do I go and which artists do I talk to? I want someone who specializes in traditional. None of this modern art bullshit.
