I enjoy south park not going to lie, but then again I remember my parents buying the season 1 vhs' back in the late 90s while the 2nd or 3rd season was on air. I haven't seen largely a lot of the episodes now.

South Park is 100X better now then it ever was in its early years and Dr. Pepper is delicious.

South Park was just never that good to begin with. The episodes are decent to watch maybe once but most of the time if you go back to watch them they suck. South Park now and South Park early both have different problems that hold them back.

just watched that episode, It was pretty good.

the dr pepper joke was painfully mediocre. and the agnostic mocking was pretty lazy.

Well i'm not TV writer mind you But I'll gladly share my criticisms of the show

I feel the mid seasons of the show were the best. Lets just say 4-7? The early seasons are great and all but they are a jumbled mess with too many subplots running through episodes and many of the plots going underdeveloped. Also many of the characters have no depth to them in the early seasons(most of them still lack anything except maybe Stan/Kyle) so it is hard to feel for the kids despite every episode centering around them. Plus it just gets tiring to have every episode based around the destruction of the town. I get the point of the mocking of returning to status quo each episode but they didn't need to do it every time.

The later era of the show 8+ is too based around pop culture references. It may only have one or two balanced plots now but the way Parker writes them they are forced to overkill jokes. The repetition of jokes done to the point of almost being annoying can be done i.e Clone High but the vast majority of the time South Park does it wrong. Plus all the episodes based around celebrities can be tiring. I much more prefer the celebrity being in the background rather than them thrust into the spotlight for the entire episode and we're supposed to give a shit about them.

But the show during seasons 4-7? were actually pretty well done. Insightful social commentary mixed with somewhat decent human emotion. Plus you'd still get the zany out there featured in the early season but the jokes were done better because they were backed up more by better plots etc. Personally the only episode of South Park that has held my interest in a long time was the Everything is Shit one. But they sorta fucked it up with the 2nd episode

/sorry for the rant

Whatever the joke is aside, isn't Dr. Pepper cherry cola? How does rootbeer fit into this?
